Logistics software firm Magaya expanding to Houston
Miami-based logistics software company Magaya is opening an office in Houston, its third outside Miami.
The Houston office will serve Texas and surrounding states and be headed by Jose Barahona, a five-year employee of Magaya with 11 years in the industry.
The new Magaya office in Houston serves freight forwarders, warehousing, and third-party logistics companies that need software for their shipping and warehousing operations.
“Since we have been expanding into this area, it became strategic and efficient to open an office instead of sending our sales personnel who were constantly traveling,” said Gabriel Ruz, vice president of Business Development. “The trips were never long enough. There’s always a new customer to talk with and existing customers to support.”
The Port of Houston is a major port in the U.S. and a strategic location for Magaya. The port is ranked first in the United States in foreign waterborne tonnage and second in the U.S. in total tonnage, according to The Port of Houston Authority.
Centrally located on the Gulf Coast, Houston is a strategic gateway for cargo originating in or destined for the U.S. West and Midwest.
In addition to the Miami main office and the new office in Houston, the Magaya Corporation has offices in Brazil and Los Angeles.
