Prothero adds responsibility

Eric Prothero

IDC Senior Vice President

Eric Prothero has been promoted to senior vice president for Worldwide Tracker Research and Latin America Region for IDC, the consulting firm specializing in information technology, telecommunications and consumer technology.

As senior vice president for Worldwide Tracker Research, Prothero is responsible for managing IDC’s largest research practice, which includes Tracker, QView and Forecaster products. Across the globe, IDC has over 250 semiannual and quarterly worldwide, regional, and local tracker products covering hardware, software, IT services, and telecom equipment.

Prothero is also responsible for managing IDC’s Latin America business unit. He oversees business operations across seven countries in the Latin America region, managing functional areas including research, consulting, conferences, sales, marketing and finance.

Prothero joined IDC in 1993 as the second employee in the Latin America region. Under his leadership the Latin America region has grown to more than 120 employees with research coverage in 15 countries in the region.

IDC is a subsidiary of IDG, the International Data Group, a media research and events company founded in 1964.
