Launch of First-Ever PhilaPort TradeNumbers

PhilaPort and other terminals along the Delaware River accounted for more than $30 billion in trade in 2018. On WorldCity’s fourth stop of a multi-city tour to examine how the local ports trade with the world, it launched the first-ever PhilaPort TradeNumbers publication complete with infographics examining the Port’s leading trade partners, exports, imports and factors likely to impact the community in 2019.

Held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, the event featured a lively discussion with WorldCity’s president Ken Roberts, Bill Lane of Trade For America, Joe Rodriguez of SeaLand, Patrick McGinn of Glovis and City of Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney.

The proceeds from the ticket sales benefited Temple University, Fox School of Business Logistics program scholarships. The event would not have been possible without corporate sponsor Trade For America and supporting organizations, World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia, City of Philadelphia, PhilaPort and Maritime Exchange.
